CAOCHANGDI ART DISTRICT

Ever since I was a little girl my weekends has involved arts. I loved as a kid (or at least so I remember) the road trips we did on the weekends - We packed up the little car and drew off - out to see the world and more importantly - eat out. Now I am living in Beijing - eating out so much that I don´t love it as much as I did back then - but however I still love - absolutely love - the weekend art road trips. As you might remember boyfriend and I often did in Copenhagen - and while he was visiting we also went to 798 to see Olaf Eliasson - but now he´s gone for a while anyway - and I am all on my own with the road trips - and I must confess it´s more fun when you´re two - so this weekend I asked a friend if she wanted to come and luckily she loved to. So Saturday we went to Caochangdi art district - a little north of 798 - and what a place - very cool buildings, very nice places to eat, some cool art and most cool of all - NO PEOPLE - and In China - that is really really nice - and coming from 798 which is so crowed - It as super nice being able to move around the huge galleries. Caochangdi is kind of huge - so we only saw, maybe, half of it - so I am for sure going back for more - but maybe on a day less hot - Saturday was 35 degrees and super sunny.

BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD

It´s weekend again - and I am off for adventures. I wanna check out an art district I haven´t seen before, and then tonight Indian dinner with 20 Danes before a long nigtht of fun, drinks and football - the game is not until three o´clock - so we have plenty of time. For Dinner we are going to a place called Ganges - Very nice Indian food place in the Village - but it doesn´t beat Dad´s steaks while looking at the steaks family - hopefully I will have that in a month or so when I go for 14 days of Danish summer.

NET A PORTER CRAVING

After living in a suitcase for almost 2 months - I am desparat for new stuff in my wardrobe and I have added a couple of items from Uniqlo and Zara - but though Beijing has it own nice Marni store - I haven´t bought any nice stuff here - as the prices are ridiculously high compared to Europe( - suddenly it makes sense why the Asians are ribbing Gucci, Prada etc in Europe )... But as my next Europe trip is not until August, I am looking towards online sales ... And Net A Porter has just what I need ... But what ! only on sale in USA ... But why ? when will it be on sale for International sale - when Net A Porter - When ? I am desperate !

MY LITTLE CHINA HOME

Let´s say I am doing doing the 100m2 flat a bit more minimalistic than our 43m2 flat in Copenhagen. I asked the landlord to remove all the furniture except the bed, sofa, tv & dining table with 4 chairs - and yes, 4 pieces of furniture + my own purchases sofa table and two green trees do not fill up the place. However - I have already given a frame store in Sanlitun a picture to frame - so I wonder how long it will take to fill at lest some of the empty walls.

GOODBYE MY LOVER

I am on my own again ...

Sooo sad to take boyfriend to the airport and send him off to Denmark. It has been 3 wonderful weeks in Lovers Ville - however both family, friends and blog has been suffering as I have divided my time equally between him and work - and nothing else. I already miss him and are looking so much forward to either he comes back or I go back home to visit him, my family and my friends - Who I miss just a much - Hard to be a little China Girl all on my own out in the big big world - however I am sure that I will feel much better in a few day ...

THINGS I MISSED LAST WEEK

My favorit twins turned 1 years old on Thursday the 3th - and I missed it just like I missed their birth last year because I also then was in Asia ... But Aunt Lulu didn´t and made all these cool gifts for them. I miss my girls - All of them ... not just the one born last year !

THE FORBIDDEN CITY

I took the day of on Wednesday and boyfriend & I went to The Forbidden City. It was my 3rd time there – so this time I focused on something a little different than before. I have just finished reading a book about the last empress a couple of weeks ago – and found that the forbidden city had a lot of foreign watches – So I took a right turn in the City and watches the treasures of The Forbidden City – and what treasures ... And yes of course – The Forbidden City also had a phone booth. To day it´s Friday – and finally weekend – looking forward to BBQ on the Danish Embassy tomorrow, Brunch on Sunday and hopefully moving in to the new apartment on Monday – but it´s China – so nothings for sure.

KERMIT´S NEW FRIEND

Kermit got a new friend - from H&M ... A Nice Zebra with very good sound compared to what I am used to. Good I like them - cause H&M stamped the check with "No Return and No Exchange" ...
