PLAYING WITH CHALK
If you have space left on our walls - unlike us - a bottle of blackboard paint gives you a chance to change your art/wall decoration as often as you want. It´s actually only our imagination that sets the the limit; you can do calendars, grocery list, outlining/where to put things, or just changing art made by you, visitors or your kids. When we get a new place (our own and not rental like now) I will add a blackboard wall to the kitchen so we can have a place for the family to mark our plans, to send messages to each other and to draw stuff whenever we fell like it.
GETTING BACK TO LIFE
BABY´S FIRST 3 WHEELS
Last weekend Baby went from 4 wheels to 3, when he took his first trip in our Nihola bike. It´s a very Danish (or Copenhagen) thing, I guess, biking around the city, as I haven´t seen the concept anywhere else in the world - but as we do not have a car (and nor do we wish for one - EVER) a bike like this makes it possible to get around with our baby quick and for longer distances, much cheaper and convenient that with subway, train or bus. We love the freedom of the bike and the environment aspect of it is just one more bonus. The bike will follow us and Baby for many many years as it can be changed to fit his changing size and the trip last week was just the first of many many trips.
CARLSBERG
Some weeks ago we passed though Carlsberg on one of our many many trips with the pram - and we found this very cool (new?) "playground": a lot of ropes hanging from the ceiling. A dad and his son were playing there - pretending to be Tarzan (I bet) and it took me back to my childhood where I also loved swinging and climbing trees. I love the area around Carlsberg - there´s so much nice old stuff and then all the new - and the idea to do a play-field like this; which is both lots of fun and nice to look at, well that´s just brilliant.
BABY ART
In my family it´s custom for the man to give his girl a present when she gives birth to their baby. My dad gave my mother jewelry and so did my sisters boyfriend - but my boyfriende has already given me more jewelry than I want to wear; so he decided that maybe I am not so much a jewelry girls; as a picture girl (Does he know me or what !!!) - So like when I turned 30 (with Julie Nord) he contacted the artist; Helle Mardahl to purchase a print we wanted to buy some years ago, but for some practical reason did; and when we came home from the hospital, he gave me this fantastic picture. It has been packed away for the last month, as we had other things to thing of than how to frame or make it possible for it to hang. Boyfriende had asked the artist what she would suggest and she said: glue it on a metal plate; and so we did, using her frame-pusher (and my new one for sure) and yesterday we brought the darling home, and from tomorrow it will hang over our bed.
Me, I just bought a small drawing by a German guy called Tasek, which image I though would matched the new dad quite well: Super proud man !
SMILE
Boyfriende started working the day before yesterday after 7 weeks home with me and this little guy - so things have changed a bit around here - but it´s still lots of fun; among other reasons because the little guy does more and more things; yesterday he smiled/laughed of a song/dance I did - and I can´t wait till he does it again ... yes, life for sure changes when you become parents.
SALE
Walking a lot, as I do these days, makes me "need" new shoes - and comfortable flat ones; so I added this blue military boot from Ann Demeulemeester to my collection of mummy-clothes. They were on sale; half price (and well on 50% Ann Demeulemeester is actually almost "cheap") on the Farfetch.com and came from a cool web-shop, which I had never heard of before, called Feathers. But thank God I found it; I will for sure check it of on a regular basis as its selection rocks ! - and well yes, as my baby does not like stores, web-shopping will be my new way of making sure I do not get too unfashionable mummy-like the next 6 months.
