HONEY I AM HOME-ISH ...

Back from Qingdao and back from Delhi, India - and not a single picture ... Didn´t see anything but factories, suppliers, hotels and airports - so not much to rapport from the last week. But now I am back - and I think one or two business trips from my 3 weeks of wonderful holiday with Boyfriend, friends and family in Denmark and uhh I cannot wait. But before that I cannot wait for weekend - Two days of absolutely nothing - as leaving for India last Saturday and working all of Sunday did not leave me with lots of energy for the last two work days of this week; thank God I am half down - uh this weekend is going to be a party - but not in the fun way as on the picture; that´s in 2 weeks !

ARTY SATURDAY

I went to Caochangdi yesterday to see if there was some new exhibitions and of course to have lunch at Fodder Factory. Well as mentioned yesterday; Fodder Factory did not serve food when I was there, so all I got was a Diet Coke, but there were new shows. Actually I went to two openings - one a little too late (after the music event had finished) and one a little too early (one of the dudes in the Gallery told me "well you´re a little early aren´t you ?") But all in all it was not the openings that impressed me - but The Caochangdi Photo Art Exhibition at Three Shadows Photography Art Gallery really did - Especially I liked Yang Nannan, who had photographed Chinese cross-dressers and transsexuals (picture 3,4 & 5) - something that is quite tabu here and therefore must be seen as much more daring and provoking than it would in Denmark. To me however, the portraits are just so beautiful with their very vulnerable and open truth staring me right in my face - I spend a long time staring at the sad faces and beautiful colors. On a more bright note; I also found a little art school, YiJie Studio, which I had never seen before, because it´s been hidden behind a port, but it was quite cool - very back to art class in junior high - however I think the students are a little more experienced as the pictures were actually quite good. All in all a very good trip out of my comfortable Chaoyang. Today it´s Sunday and the day has been a little less adventurous than yesterday as I´ve only been to the gym and to a little cafe for coffee, cake and book reading, and now I am on the sofa watching tv before the week starts tomorrow; a tough week that will bring me to Qingdao and New Delhi.

PERFECT LUNCH

I had Vietnamese lunch today, though I went to Fodder Factory (you might remember the place from here) first - but for some reason, they were not serving food - well yes, so I ended up at my favorite Vietnamese Cafe - or Vietnamese Cate as it says on all their parasols - you gotta love China - and Vietnam; how nice does this pho and fresh spring rolls not look ? and they taste just as nice as they look !

HOLIDAY DREAMS

Boyfriende and I are trying to find out what to do in our summer holiday. We have 3 weeks in Denmark together, before the both of us go to Beijing for almost all of August. But now´s the big question; where to go, what to do and at what dates to do so ? We know we want to see our favorite people in Copenhagen, we want to visit our families in Jutland and we want to chill out and do nothing but drink coffee, eat ice cream and look in each others eyes for hours. But what about the "left-over-days" ? - should we visit Paris, London or Berlin again or go for our first trip together to wonderful cool Stockholm or maybe Copenhagen-ish Amsterdam?

SUNDAY AFTERNOON

I spend the afternoon in good company; Salad, Truman Capote and cupcake at a new ( or kind of new) place in Village North. It was super nice, enjoying the sun, finishing my book and trying the café´s menu, which I have wanting to do for quite some time. Salad was wonderful, Mr. Capote was okay, but the cupcake was not good - so only the first one will be follow up by a second try. That was my Sunday afternoon - and it was a good one.

SAME GIRL

I miss Boyfriende today - terribly ... and there´s 34 days till I see him again; which does not sound like much but it´s actually almost 6 weeks ! - which you might agree with me, is a terribly long time. To make matters worse he is going to Denmark next week for 2 weeks of leave (again yes !) and well I am just going to be here - or actually that´s not completely true: I am also going to Qingdao and Delhi this month ... but that´s still not Denmark and it´s not holiday fun like the 14 days he´s gonna have visiting our friends and family... Yes, you sense a little bit of jealousy - you´re right ... I wish it was me ! Well, tomorrow there´s (only) 33 days - which is one less than today - and while I am waiting Jack is keeping me company.

TEAM BUILDING

Finally it´s Friday night again - my favorite evening of the week. But tonight I am super tired as I have been on team building trip all day; playing baseball (or softball) outside the city. It was my first time ever playing baseball and it was super fun and we had a swell day; though very very hot with temperatures more than 30 degrees and I am sure it´s not going to be my last time on the field. But now I will enjoy my favorite night with lot of Watermelon- hummmm...
