Two weeks ago I went to Caochangdi for a day of art and quality time and I went to my favorite Beijing food stop. Fodder Factory is the coolest joint hidden between Caochangdi´s very very Chinese around scenery and the food and tea is wonderful and cheap and the décor is just to die for. The art there was also to die for – but that will be my next post … I have been laying a little low the last two weeks – I have been very busy – going to South China twice and working my ass off at the office – but now I am back, well still working my ass of – the boss is in town, so Saturday will be spend at the office, but besides that I need to buy the last couple of Christmas gifts, pack my suitcase for Denmark´s snowy weather and off course make myself as delicious as possible as I am seeing Boyfriende for the first time in two months. The countdown has begun – there´s 8 days to go …
OUT OF TOWN
Today we went out off town to visit the coolest furniture market – I have never ever seen anything like it! I am in love – it´s a simple as that! And I am for sure going back as I only bought 2 small Chinese chairs as I wanted to think about what I think I need for my place. But now back at home – I need EVERYTHING there – or at least all the “farmer” style – which is what boyfriende and I like – and which in our opinion go with Danish design furniture and modern art. I have before blogged about my sofa table which I love the shape off, but actually never really have loved the surface off – It has or maybe I should say had as I am now changing it – the most stupid surface all raw and easy to get dirty – but now I am trying to add oil to make it different – but if it doesn´t work – new sofa table is on my wish list for the market next time. Tomorrow I am off again – the south is calling my name and for the next two days I will be on the road between Nanjing and Shanghai visiting new suppliers – lucky me… More hard beds, bad breakfasts and way too many hours on the road – but well yes, what can I say – I still love my job.
AT FORD WHEELERS PLACE
I am going to a furniture dealer outside Beijing this Sunday and I can´t wait. I am looking so much forward to seeing something new and exciting (I have actually never been to a furniture market/dealer in China before) and I want to buy some cozy-ness to my place. I have been checking out home-blogs lately searching for inspiration and the pictures here are from The Selby´s last photos hoot at Ford Wheeler´s home - how super "hyggelig" is this ? (for the blogs foreign readers: "hyggelig" is a special Danish work that really can´t be translated - as it´s a special feeling Danes love and which we like to think only we, the Danes - can feel (which is probably not true) - however cozy is the closest English word I can think off) I simply love all the different fun things and furniture there is at his place and I would love to add some more nice soulful things to my Chinese home which in my eyes are very very Ikea like with the cream-colored sofa and light light wood all over. Speaking off adding - I just added to my Danish home. I bought a new print of the Danish artist Tal R and I am looking forward to see it when I go home for Christmas in less than a month. I really like Tal R with his childish universe, playful colors and never ending story and I have long be wanting to add him to my contemporary collection - yesterday I finally did. Rest assure - I will show you my new baby very very soon.

THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT
Tonight the film club was showing “The kids are all right” on my TV – this is one of the very wrong but nice thing by living in Asia – you can see the movies on your own TV very very shortly after the have premiered. It was a cool movie and I enjoyed the lesbian drama - but it´s not the best movie this year – but you will no fell like I did after watching “Eat, Pray, Love” : Two and a half hours I will never get back!

FACE THE WEEKEND
It was a very wet weekend ... but I had time to go to 798 and Wangfujing to buy a new hat - yes I am hooked; hats and glasses are my new passion. 798 was a little boring and I will be going to Chaoyangdi next time – well yes Chaoyangdi and then a short stop in 798 to buy a Darth Vader mug, and the only fascinating thing I saw were these a little creepy faces, well and yes, then a small print and mask I bought for my own walls – well yes; glasses and hats – and ART !
